Sadly the forums are very big and regular search can bring up so many results, it's frustrating going through all of them to see their relevance to what people searched for.
And the advanced search has been broken for a very long time. Unless there are boards about Science and Technology on gwguru.

Games = Business (and Fun for some companies) The only they need is Money (and Fun), so if ArenaNet are making money (I hope they are), why not wait some months.

Offtopic: I will NEVER understand why some people has multiple PvE characters of the same profession.

I've pondered over making a female elementalist just to have it, to understand a different aspect of game play, different armors...and to get free stuff

Well, I have finished Elona with 10 characters, finished Cantha with 10 characters and finished Prophecies with 7 characters.

I tried DoA and it is too tedious to enjoy. Sure, to one day make a group to go through it all so I can say I did I can still imagine...going through it multiple times to get enough gems to get me one armbrace of truth for a cool weapon...don't think so.

My point and my hope is that GW will use new expansion to give more options to characters. You need 1 weapon, or a weapon and an off-hand. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd set for different builds.
The rest is armour and that is it as far as stuff is concerned. All armours have the same options...just add them as you like.
All weapons are the same...no matter the skin a max. sword is 15-22 with 3 upgrade options of which only a few combo's make sense. Who cares if your sword does bleeding for 24 or 32 seconds? Most enemies are not supposed to live that long.

So chapter 4 is a secret...sure I wanna know what's gonna come. But regardless of what it is and what the surroundings will be, I just hope it will include more things to expand your character. Sure I can spend my time capping all elite skills...but why? I certainly don't need all of them and don't want all of them. There are billions of titles and you only use one at a time anyway.

Anet can keep their secrets as long as they feel they need to, but I hope they understand that the next title should not be a title for having tons of characters on 1 account. I don't need new character classes on each expansion, because in the end it will mean that I have too many characters and I won't play half or more but I won't delete them because of the expensive armours on them. I have at least one 15k armour on each character. Why? Because it's largely the only thing left to do for your characters...

Actually, I hope that C4 will be delayed, to give me more time to complete various tasks in Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall. I'm hoping for a release not end of March (which would be the date according to ANet's 6-month-cycle), but later this year, in summer or autumn. If ANet really release in March I may even skip one chapter and stick to the old ones.

I always wonder about people complaining there wouldn't be anything to do anymore and it seems it really affects them, yadda yadda yadda.

Get more hobbies imho.

I would love a christmas release, BUT I would want the thing to be worth waiting that long, and I'd want something like an auction house between now and then <and that hard mode there is speak of would be nice>

Id love info too...but why release anything when lately the only thing it would do would be to cause people to bitch about it before its even viable? At least keeping quiet and doing the Utopia thing...they keep us baited...sorta like Gwen's story.

I'm sorry to say, but that's not a particularly compelling argument. I mean, why should all the other hundreds of thousands of players be forced to get game content on your schedule? You can still complete your tasks later. I mean, I haven't finished any of the games, but I'm still looking forward to the next chapter. But I'm not a task orientated gamer. Everybody benefits from a bigger playground with more toys.

I don't mean to pick on you, but I've seen this sort of comment before and it's just struck me as incredibly self centered. I mean, most of the recommendations against new professions/skills/expansions/heroes/whatever have usually come from a place of self interest, but at least they try wrap it up in an objective (though usually silly) reason.

I look forward to a game being released every 6 months. Sure, it stacks up more things you have to complete, but at least you have something to occupy your time.

I'm on holidays from uni at the moment (have been since start of november, and still have 3 weeks left) and having 3 games of Guild Wars has been such a blessing. I mean, there's only so much time you can spend going out and getting pissed. And when your work only gives you one shift a week, even though you said you are available any day, it also kind of limits the things you can go out and do.

I've never actually finished any of the games, mostly because I keep making a new character. Got up to the desert with my first char, then stopped playing him. Deleted my second char, because she was an assassin (need I say more?). I'm almost finished NF with my Dervish, but taking a break to level my new ranger to get DoA. So yeah, I have plenty to do to occupy the time when I'm not drunk, and so I'm not complaining. I long for more and more content. I don't know why anyone would complain about having too much to do in a game.

It's not absolutely crucial to finish every last thing in one game before the next comes out. It's also not crucial that you play the new ones as soon as they are released. If you want to finish an old campaign, do that and then start the new one. GW is probably going to be around for awhile.

Yeah I really hate those arguments as well. It's like saying "They shouldnt make Booty Call 2 because I havent seen Booty Call yet!"

Theres always something to do, heck you have multiple charactars and 3 campaigns. For CH4 i would like there to be like a while pre-searing thingy like the good ole prophecies has. But then i also hope that ch4 doesnt come out like factions...the worst ch yet in my opinion, most of my buddies left after factions, but nightfall was better hopefully ch 4 will be better than nightfall. But the original is always the best, Prophecies=#1

What I don't get is why Anets so secretive about their campaigns, its not like someone is going to steal the idea...what do they have to hide?

"Oh no, the players know about Ch4, and now they are interested....this is terrible."

We know it exsists, yet we know literally nothing about it. Imagine if The Burning Crusade (WoW Expansion) wasn't announced until 2 months before release? So many players would have already moved on.

In conclusion....what on earth does Anet have to hide? They have every reason to tell us, and no good reasons to not.
